ChemBioDraw Reactivation

The Chemistry Computing Facility has renewed our Site License for CambridgeSoft’s ChemOffice Professional for Windows and ChemDraw Professional for Mac for another year. This extends licensed software until November, 2021. Any licenses obtained before September 2020 will expire and will need to be reactivated.

If you are using a version earlier than 17, strongly suggested that you upgrade to the latest version. You may still continue to use an earlier version, but you will need to reactivate your software. Follow the instructions below. You should follow the appropriate set of instructions below depending on which platform you are running it on. If you have any questions, please contact ChemIT.

Reactivate ChemOffice Professional

Follow the instructions below to reactivate your software.

Go to Penn Chemistry’s Site License page here. Note that this page looks different than previous versions of ChemDraw as the software now uses a different licensing method.
If you do not have a Cambridgesoft account set up yet, create an account using your SAS email as the account name. If you do not have an SAS email address, see workaround here.
Log into your Cambridgesoft account on the PerkinElmer site. The Login ID is usually your SAS email account address.
Under Product Information, you will see a Latest Version tab. Click on the ChemOffice Professional link. You will see a list of available downloadable items. Click on either ChemDraw Professional (the Mac version) or ChemOffice Professional (the Windows version) to download the software installer for your operating system and save it to your computer.
You will need an activation code to enable all of the features in the software. You can obtain this by clicking on Order History on the left pane and clicking on the Site License link under the Order Number section on the right. The activation code that you will need is in the last column.
Ensure that you have an active Internet connection.
Go to Cambridgesoft’s site: http://www.cambridgesoft.com/
If you do not have a Cambridgesoft account set up yet, create an account using your SAS email as the account name.
Click on the Login button and log into your Cambridgesoft account. Account name is usually your SAS email account address.
Click on the “My Downloads” link under the Services heading on the right. Your serial numbers for both Windows and Mac should appear in the list. Look for the most recent listing for version 15 for Windows (expiring 12/13/2018) and use these codes for reactivation.
Launch the ChemBioDraw software. You may receive a notification window which reads “Your activation code for ChemBioDraw Ultra Has Expired.”
Click on OK to clear this window and the software should launch normally.
On the menu bar, click on Help, then Activate ChemBioDraw… and the registration window will open.
Ensure that your Name, Email Address and Serial Number are filled in.
Click on Activate over Internet button. A firewall warning notification window may open. Click on OK to continue.
A window should open confirming that your software activation is complete. Click on OK to clear this window
Your software is now activated until November 2021.
